Salisbury Journal, 14 Mar 1825 Our assizes were not terminated till Wednesday evening.- The following sentences were passed on the prisoners who were tried and convicted. Death.- - Robert Emett and Anthony Bateman, for robbing the house of Betty Hobbs, at Box. ... (All the above prisoners, 24 in number, have been reprieved). Tasmanian record - Conduct report - states his native place is Chippenham, trade, a butcher. Has served 12 months in prison at Devizes prior to this transportation.Gaolers Report " Bad, convicted before". Protestant, single. Condit. Pardon, 30 Nov 1839. Pardon for anywhere excepte Europe, 26/8/1845.
