Launceston Advertiser. Thu 10 Jan 1839. Page 3. SUPREME COURT, LAUNCESTON. Saturday, January 5,— Before Bit Honor Judge Montagu, and a military jury. George Evans was indicted for having in his possession, knowing the same to have been stolen, sundry plated articles, the property of Mr. Winter, of Winterton; and a second indictment charged the prisoner with having in possession tundry articles of silver plate and plated goods, the property of James Cox, Esq., of Clarendon, knowing the same to have been stolen. Verdict, in both cases, guilty. Ills Honor immediately passed sentence of fourteen years transportation, for each offence,
