Family connections for James (Evans) are: EVANS James (Evans) was born about 1802. He was tried at Stafford Assizes Staffordshire, sentenced to 14years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 5 4 1818 after a voyage of 6months on BATAVIA. He was assigned to William (Cox) at Bathurst. He was recorded as a farmer at Richmond in 1830 & was a farmer at Bathurst from 1830-34. [Some details taken from this Website] Mary Ann (Roberts) was born on 26 7 1792 (presumably on Norfolk Island). She was probaly taken to Port Jackson by her mother in March 1793 on CHESTERFIELD. She is stated (on this Website) to be aboriginal, although this is also clearly disputed on this Website. She cohabited firstly with Richard (Lewis), produced 7children & later married him. She arrived in Bathurst before 1818 with her partner. She married Richard (Lewis) on 3 1 1825 at CofE Sydney. She married secondly James (Evans) on 5 1 1829 at Holy Trinity Kelso-permission given by Government. She died on 16 12 1868 age76 mother of at least 10children. Details of Mary Ann (Roberts)s family are given in entry for Richard (Lewis COROMANDEL 1802) on this Website. James (Evans) & Mary Ann (Roberts) produced 3children: 1.James (Evans) was born on 31 3 1830 at Richmond & baptised on 25 4 1830 at St Peters CofE Richmond. He died on 29 4 1875 age45. 2.John (Evans) was born in 1831 at Wyagdon Bathurst. 3.Edward (Evans) was born in 1834 at Wyagdon Bathurst.
