Thomas Evans was never married to Jane. He was married to Anne Hughes. I downloaded both marriage certificates and compared the signatures signatures




Thomas Evans was my great great grandfather, he did marry Mary Anne Atkins and had 5 children, one of the children - Thomas Morgan Evans was my great grandfather.




Thomas Arrived in VDL on the 3rd of October 1850




Thomas was 24 years old on arrival. He was 5'8" tall, could read and write, protestant, brown eyes, black hair, fresh complexion. Thomas had been in the 75th Regiment for 4 years and had bought his discharge. He was a widower, 1 daughter Catherine, her mother is listed as Jane Williams, but he was married to Ann Hughes, in March 1847. 25/1/1851: Made a Constable. 29/5/1852: Larceny under £5. 4/6/1852: Dismissed from the police. 22/6/1852: TOL Revoked. 31/10/1854: TOL 22/7/1856: CP 1858: COF 1851: Married Mary Ann Atkins at Spring Bay, they had 5 children. 1/10/1882: Died at Hobart.




Married Mary Ann Atkins who came aboard the Elizabeth and Henry in January of 1847.
