Tasmanian Record , Convict Indent, CON14-1-2 Image 89, gives the following information. Age 27, Trade - Gentleman's servant; height 5 ft 10 1/4. Tried at Cape of Good Hope 15 Feb 1831, sentence 7 yrs;Native place, Keston, nr Bromley, Kent; single, protestant; can read and write. Father, Chas. Evans, a tailor in Huntingdonshire.

Date of conviction for Perjury at Cape of Good Hope, 15 Feb 1831. He was single. He attempted to abscond on two occasioned and was sentenced to the Bridgewater cahin gang for the remainder of his sentence, June 22 1832. Executed 17th Oct 1832. SUPREME COURT—Criminal Side. Wednesday, September 26, 1832. The Court opened this day for a general gaol delivery, when William Evans, was indicted for stabbing with a knife, at Bridgewater, with intent to kill him, George Skine Edwards—Verdict—Guilty.
