It appears in the Bound Indenture records, under Occupation that Ann Farran was shown as a "House Servant to Nursemaid" (note the text is slightly blurry). For researchers, note that a different Ann (Farran) Melville is listed in various places on the internet as buried in Glen Innes, in Northern NSW. This is almost certainly incorrect as she lived her colonial life entirely in the Sydney area. More reliable sources show her as buried near husband Robert Melville (Jr) at Pioneers Memorial Park in Leichhardt, Inner West Council, NSW, Australia.

My Great great great grandmother allegedly took a pretty ribbon belonging to a member of the family she worked for. She met and married my Great great great grandfather Robert Melville in 1828 in Sydney NSW. They had 10 children. Anne died in Sydney in 1870 at 62 years of age.
