Mary Farrell, along with her sister Bridget, was convicted at Longford, Ireland on 29 Dec 1849 for sheep stealing. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Duke of Cornwall' arriving 27 Oct 1850. (n.b. There are two women named Mary Farrell on this voyage of the 'Duke of Cornwall'. This Mary is Identifier no. 2.) Aged 17yrs; single woman; nurse maid; 4'11"; Roman Catholic. Native Place - Longford, Ireland. Brother: John Sister: Bridget Farrell - also transported to VDL. Assigned to work services in the Colong. 1852: Mr. Nicholas, near Bothwell, Tas. 1852: Mr. Elliott, Tea Tree, near Brighton, Tas. 28 Jan 1853: Marriage to Charles Parker (ref. noted on Conduct Record but does not appear on Marriage Register). 20 Dec 1853: Ticket of Leave granted. 17 July 1855: Conditional Pardon approved.
