The Convict Indentures state that Mary Fay was 21 years old. She could read; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of Dublin. She was a laundress and plain needle woman. Mary was convicted of stealing an handkerchief at Dublin City on 22 September 1837 and convicted to 7 years. She had one prior conviction and served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 3 1/4 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair dark brown and eyes dark hazel. Transport number 22. Prisoner number 22-38. Received certificate of Freedom in 1844 (number 44/1546).
