Susan Featherstone was convicted at Exeter, Devon on 03/01/1837 for stealing a shawl. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Platina', arriving 22/10/1837. Single girl, aged 17yrs. Susan was given permission to marry George JONES, ex 'Platina'. There are 14 children born to the couple recorded on the Tasmanian Pioneer Index, between 1841 and 1862. Some records of misconduct and extension of sentence. Ticket of Leave granted 25/02/1845. After the death of George Jones, 20/09/1872 at Kingston, Susan married Thomas John Vestirin (Visterin) on 16/02/1874, Hobart.
