Petitions file says prisoner was held in a hulk at Portsmouth (after trial awaiting transportation). It contains two petitions with signatures collected by the prisoner's parents William Fensom of West Street, Cambridge Heath, St Matthew Bethnal Green, cowkeeper and dairyman, and Anne his wife. Signatures are from people of Cambridge Heath and Hackney. The theft victim signed both.

Job Fensom was tried at the Old Bailey for 'House Breaking" but was found guilty of 'Stealing' only. Old Bailey: JOB FENSOM was indicted for breaking and entering the dwelling-house of John Owen , on the 11th of February , and stealing therein 1 book, value 4s., his property . 18/2/1841: COF 1841: Married Martha Bootes, Martha had married James Longley in 1835 in Sussex Eng., they had 1 daughter, Catherine, born 1838. They then came to Australia and Martha left James and became the common law wife of Job, they had 6 children. Job became a gold digger - they lived in the Braidwood area. 20/9/1868: Job died at Major's Creek and is buried at the Braidwood Cemetery. Martha died 12/3/1855 at Major's Creek.
