Louisa Ferris's Trial is dated 5th April 1847 and her Transportation Record is dated as 4th September 1847. Louisa murdered a policeman Patrick White by slitting his throat on her birthday 1st November 1846 in her home. She was transported onboard the female convict ship Cadet. Louisa was treated by the ship's surgeon C.R. Kinnear between 5th September and 7th September. It seems she later became fixated on a young man named John Turnball in Australia. Louisa tried sneaking into his room while he was asleep and attempted to cut his throat. She did not succeed in killing him. She did wound him. Louisa Ferris died in Hobart Hospital, Van Diemen's Land on 26th February 1854 aged 35.
