Henry Fickle was 22 years old on arrival in VDL although 1801 is given as his birth year on 'Founders and Survivors' – he was 5’9 ½” tall, brown hair and eyes, large scar on right cheek bone, lost little toe on right foot, single. 1830-1832: Assigned to T C Simpson Esq. 1833: TOL 1835: TOL 12/10/1839: CP 8/9/1842: Free Pardon. 5/5/1853: Steerage passenger, Launceston to Melbourne per ‘Clarence’ – Free by Servitude. 5/6/1855: Subscribed to the Patriotic Fund – West Tamar. 19/6/1885: Henry Fickle died at West Tamar. 22/6/1885 Launceston Examiner: OBITUARY--The death is announced of Mr. Henry Fickle, an old resident of West Tamar, who dropped dead at his residence, Pleasant Hills, when nailing up some fruit boxes on Friday last. The deceased had been suffering from heart disease, was 93 years of age and had for some time past been receiving charitable aid from the Government. He was a much respected resident of the West Tamar, and gained a small living by farming. The deceased was buried at Windermere on Saturday. No marriage or children found.
