Tried at the Old Bailey, 19 Feb 1817. 400. JAMES FIELD was indicted for stealing, on the 22d of January , one handkerchief, value 4s. 6d. the property of Thomas Reilly , from his person . THOMAS REILLY. I am an agent , and live in Leadenhall-street. On the 22nd of January, about one o'clock in the afternoon, as I was going along Cheapside, I thought I felt somebody at my pocket; I put my hand to it, and found my handkerchief safe. When I got to the middle of the Poultry I found the prisoner in the act of taking it out, and seized him with it in his hand - He made a great resistance. (Property produced and sworn to.) GUILTY . Aged 25. Transported for Life . London Jury, before Mr. Common Sergeant. -------------------------------------------------------------------- NSW Convict Index. James Field, per Larkins, 1817, Ticket of Leave, No 27/243, COLONIAL SECRETARY'S OFFICE APRIL 5, 1827.
