Michael Finn was transported for life per convict ship 'Queen' after being tried at Limerick. He was aged 25 on departing Ireland; his crime was stealing a horse: Finns Leinster Journal 1771-1828, Wednesday, 11 August, 1790; Page: 3 "Limerick, August 9th, Saturday last, the Assizes for this county ended when the following persons were tried and found guilty: ... Michael Finn, convicted of stealing a mare out of the livery stables of Mr Stephen Kelly; to be executed on 21st December next." This execution date was set four months away so there was time to seek mercy and have the death sentence commuted to transportation for Life.
