1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Correct conviction date is 9 October 1835 not 7 October 1836.

The convict indentures state that Robert Finn was 18 years old. He could neither read nor write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of Dublin. He was an file cutter's boy. (Please note that there is no code for this in occupation so I selected file cutter.) Robert was convicted on 7 October 836 at Dublin City of picking pockets and sentenced to 7 years. He had one prior conviction and served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 2 3/4 inches; complexion dark pale and freckled; hair brown and eyes grey. He had a cost inward in right eye. Transport number 109. Prisoner number 36-1912. Received Certificate of freedom in 1843 (number 43/1077).
