Formely with William Cox esq at Windsor 30/3/1825 Run away Sent to Port Macquarie per ship Mermaid. To serve remainder of original sentence 14/9/1825 Run away from Port Macquarie returned per ship Elizabeth Henrietta New South Wales, Australia, Gaol Description and Entrance Books, 1818-1930 for Michael Finnegan 18/5/1826 Attempted house robbery sentenced to 18 months in a penal settlement. He escaped and was retaken on 26/5/1826 where he was sent to the Hulk 1843 in Darlinghurst Gaol 16/2/1844 Trial sent to the iron gan at Wooloomooloo on 13/3/1844 The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW : 1803 - 1842) View title info Wed 24 May 1826 Page 3 ESCAPED from H. M. Gaol, Sydney, on the 21st of May, 1826, MICHAEL FINNEGAN, per Ship Lord Sidmouth (2), 23 years of age ; 5 feet 1 and a quarter inches high ; hazle eyes; brown hair; florid freckled complexion; sentenced to a penal settlement for 18 months. All Constables and others, are hereby required to use their utmost Exertions to apprehend and lodge the said Michael Finnegan in any of H. M. Gaols
