Family connections for Edward (Fisher) are: FISHER Edward (Fisher) was born about 1753 & became a labourer. He was tried w/4others for stealing sacks of hempen etc of Hugh (Evans) of Sedgeley Staffordshire at Stafford/Oxford circuit Summer Assizes on 30 7 1788, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 9 7 1791 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship MATILDA. He was sent to Norfolk Island in 1791 on MARY ANN. He married Elizabeth (Gregory) on 26 7 1801. He left Norfolk Island with his family on 25 12 1807 on HMS PORPOISE to Derwent arriving on 17 1 1808; he was granted 85acres at Sandy Bay. In 1824 he was granted 200acres more at Oatlands. He died on 23 8 1838 age85 at Sandy Bay Tasmania; he left his farm to his wife to be divided to his children after her death. She arrived in NSW with her mother on 3 6 1790 after a voyage of 12months on Fleet ship LADY JULIANA & then was taken to Norfolk Island on SURPRISE, arriving on 7 8 1790. She is recorded as with her parents off stores on Norfolk Island in February 1805. [She is recorded as leaving Norfolk Island with her parents on ESTRAMINA to Derwent on 15 5 1808 in ref:'Forgoytten...']. The following information is available from the Indictment in the Oxfordshire Circuit Assizes records (Assizes 5/108), "Edward Fisher late of the Parish of Sedgeley, Staffs, labourer, with Thomas Baker, James Haden, Danial Aston and James Dodd, tried at the Summer Assizes 28 George Ill (1788) for feloniously stealing two hempen sacks, value 3/-, and 275 pounds weight of hops, value $20, goods of Hugh Evans' of the Parish of Sedgley on 12" February 28 George III."
