The Royal Admiral was built at Lynn in 1828. Convicts were transported to New South Wales on the Royal Admiral in 1830, 1833, 1835 and to Van Diemen's Land in 1842. 1833 - Ship; Royal Admiral. Commenced fitting as a Convict Transport at Deptford on the 29 March. Surgeon Superintendent [Andrew Henderson] joined on the 3rd April. Guard embarked on the 13th. Sailed on the 17th and anchored in Kingston Barbour near Dublin on the 9th May. 220 convicts embarked on the 16 May 1833 and the ship sailed from Dublin Bay for Sydney on the 4th June and arrived there on the 20 October. Originally embarked with 221 convicts, 5 Died at sea, 1 was Relanded. 11 sick on shore, The convicts were described as 220 such wretchedly debilitated creatures ... The commission of assize for this county for this county will be opened on Monday evening next. There are thirty-seven prisoners-for trial …. John Fisher and John Walker Foreman, for sheep-stealing at Cheveley; ... Cambridge Chronicle, 12 March 1830. Cambridgeshire Assizes.  John Fisher, who was convicted on Wednesday of sheep stealing, was then brought up, and his Lordship said, he had had some difficulty  in making his mind not to leave him for execution. In addition to his crime, he had greatly aggravated his guilt by procuring two witnesses to perjure themselves on his trial. However, he had resolved to spare his life, and sentence of death would be recorded, hut he would leave the country for ever. Page 3 John Maher, John Fisher, and John Tuonidson, ???convicted at the late Criminal Sessions-the first of striking with in-tent lo kill, and the other two for various robberies on the Parramatta-road, under-went the extreme penalty of the law yesterday morning. Colonial Secretary's Office, Sydney, 1st June, 1835. ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY POUNDS REWARD. WHEREAS, it has been represented to the Government, that the undermentioned Nine men, consisting of four private Soldiers of the 4th (or King's Own) Regiment, one free Overseer, and four Convicts attached to No. 2 Stockade, on Cox's River, availed themselves of a favorable opportunity by the absence of some of the Guard on duty elsewhere, to escape from the Stockade on the 25th ultimo, and it is supposed they will make for Twofold Bay, for the purpose of seizing a Whale Boat. Notice is hereby given, that a Reward of Twenty Pounds will be paid to any free person for the apprehension of each of the Runaways, and should the person or persons apprehending either of the men, be a prisoner of the Crown, he shall be recommended to His Majesty's Government, for a Conditional Pardon.
