On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sydney Gazette, Sat 7 Jun 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Convicts who sailed on the 'Mary' direct from Ireland - 1819 & 1836 - are currently being listed, incomplete data to date.

Absent with out leave. To be placed in the Crime Class 1832 - 20 Nov. Absent from service with out permission 1833 - 29 May. Absent with out leave. Sentence; Cell - 6 days and not to be again assigned to Hobart Town 1833 - 27 Dec. Disobedience of orders, Insolence & disorderly conduct . Sentence; 6 months hard Labour in the Female House of Correction 1834 - 12 Aug. Absent with out leave, Sentence; 6 days in a cell with bread & water 1834 - 20 Oct. Absent with out leave. Returned to factory having been allowed to go out.

Married convict Thomas Fletcher-Jones in 1836 in Hobart. Her daughter, Elizabeth, was the mother of my grandmother, Charlotte Winifred Meredith, nee Osborne.
