From the Report of Thomas Gibson, Surgeon on The Somersetshire, 1841-1842. ADM 101/68/5/5 The ship arrived at the Table Bay, Cape of Good Hope on 22nd March [1842], having put in there in order to try by court martial three soldiers of the 99th Regiment for a mutinous conspiracy in combination with some of the convicts to surprise and take the ship. The surgeon also mentions that one additional convict was embarked at Cape of Good Hope. -------------------------------------------------- Tasmanian Record, CON22/1/3Page 264.
