Details of the John Fletcher who arrived in Van Diemen's Land per the 'Blenheim' 1837 are on the Archives - Conduct Record http://search.archives.tas.gov.au/ImageViewer/image_viewer.htm?CON31-1-14,180,160,L,46 indicates that this person killed a ewe. Life sentence. It indicates he had a wife Sarah & 2 children, at native place. There is only one person by this name on this voyage of the Blenheim 1837. There are several other men by this name, but transported on other ships and years. Further research on the Archives would be warranted to select correct data.

I think the information as supplied by David Fletcher may be wrong. The John Fletcher I think this refers to was born in Sundon Bedfordshire England in 1811 or 13. He was sentenced at Bedford for sheep stealing along with his father in law, William Scrivener and brother in law James Scrivener both of which were on the Blenheim. Therefore, I wonder if the death date is correct. Apologies if wrong.
