IN VDL: 26 May, 1853: On arrival in VDL, Bernard Flynn [sic] was listed as convict #27912, a farm labourer, 30 years old, 5’7” tall with black hair, hazel eyes and a fresh complexion. He was single, Roman Catholic, and literate. Native place: Roscommon. Of his offence, he said he had been transported for highway robbery and stealing £26.
