THURSDAY,  JANUARY 22 .... Jane Flood stood indicted for stealing one cloak, four plates, and one dish, value five shillings, the property of Bernard Wilson, of Cavan, on the January  last. A policeman produced the plate which he saw her steal, and dish which he swore found on her person—Guilty, sentenced to seven years transportation. When the unfortunate ... was removing from the Dock to the Gaol she screamed most lamentably, and shed tears in abundance. It appears she was one of the ladies of the town.   Drogheda Journal, 6 Feb 1830.
