Possible??? Maitland Hospital. There are two cases of diseased leg in the Hospital at present. One is that of a man named Luke Flood, who had the wheel of a dray pass over the lower part of his leg, which completely smashed the bone. This case is now doing well, as the jagged ends of the bone have been cut off and it is probable that the sufferer will again have the use of the leg, although it will be shorter than the other in consequence of a portion of the bone having been taken away. The Maitland Mercury, and Hunter River Advertiser, 7 Dec 1871.
