National Archives. Criminal Petitions. HO 17/84/15 [1833 Dec] Prisoner name: Georgiana Flynn [Georgeina Flinn, Georgeania Flynn]. Prisoner age: 20 years. Prisoner occupation: Domestic servant. Court and date of trial: Westminster Sessions, London, August 1833. Crime: Stealing prints, from a Mrs Nelson of Great Queen Street, Westminster, [London], value 7 shillings. Initial sentence: Seven years transportation. Annotated (Outcome): 'Sailed on the Numa [convict transport ship] for New South Wales'. Petitioner(s): Georgiana Flynn (the convict) undersigned by eight inhabitants of [London] known to the convict or her mother. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Previous good character; first offence; her friends were unaware of her trial and had not the time to procure counsel for her; transportation will be her ruin; she has offers of employment if liberated; good behaviour in gaol.
