Family connections for John (Ford) are: An amendment added Oct 2025 & amendments Feb 2026. FORD John (Ford) son of Mary (Ford) was born on 22 8 1786 in Stafford Staffordshire. He was tried for horse theft at Stafford Assizes, sentenced to 7years or Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 5/15 5 1818 after a voyage of 5months on NEPTUNE; he was Protestant. He is recorded in 1822 with Conditional Pardon as overseer for Major (Druitt) at Parramatta. He married with permission Jane (Cowell her second marriage) on 7 3 1825 at Christ Church Castlereagh Sydney. He is recorded in 1828 as a dealer with his family at Parramatta. He was recorded in 1830 & 1831 as a shopkeeper. By 1832 he held a licence to sell Wine & liquors at Parramatta. He arrived in Bathurst before 1840 & lived on 10acres at Solitary Creek. In 1844 he owned land at Raglan Creek with 'Fords Mill' for grinding wheat & flour. He died on 10 1 1860 age75 father of perhaps 12children at Kelso & was buried at Holy Trinity CofE Kelso. She was tried with her husband & sister for stealing ribbon & lace of Mrs (Clarke) at Castletown Douglas Isle of Man on 27 8 1822, sentenced to 7years, held at Castle Rushen Gaol Delivery, presumably removed on 18 4 1823 on MAJESTIC to Liverpool & arrived in NSW as a convict with her son on 5 10 1823 after a voyage of 4months on MARY; she was Protestant 5'3" fresh complexion brown hair hazel eyes. In 1824 she was assigned to Major George (Druitt). She is recorded in 1828 with her family at Parramatta. She died on 27 11 1856 age56 mother of 13children & buried at Holy Trinity CofE Kelso. She died on 21 12 1899 age74 at Bathurst & was buried at Holy Trinity CofE Kelso. ..Henry (Rotten) son of Gilbert (Rotten) & Mary C ((???) was born in 1814 at Frome Somerset & became a midshipman mail coach operator for Royal Navy & self. He arrived in Australia as a midshipman in 1833 on ANN. He returned to England & spent some time on African Gold Coast. On returning to NSW he took charge of cedar cutting on Manning River, then settled at Mount Lambie. He married firstly Lorn Jane (McPherson) in 1839 at Rydal. He arrived in Bathurst in 1843. By 1849 he had 20mail coaches running as far as Penrith. In 1853 he purchased 'Blackdown Estate'. He was elected to Legislative Assembly NSW Parliament in 1858 & later represented Hartley. In the 1828 Census records: Page 152... [Ref F1025] Ford, John, 40, conditional pardon, Fortune, 1818, life, Protestant, dealer, Parramatta. (error with ship name) Ford, Jane, 26, Mary, 1823, 7 years, Protestant. Ford, Mary, 4 born in the colony. Ford, Jane Jr., 9 months born in the colony. John and Jane had a large family, 11 children between 1825 and 1854.

In 1822, we can find John in the Census.. Ford, John, conditional pardon, Neptune (2), life, overseer, Major Druitt, Parramatta. Then in 1825 at Castlereagh he married Jane Cowell or Quayle (Convict, 1823, "Mary").
