POLICE INCIDENTS. Samuel Stannars and Daniel Ford, two assigned servants, were yesterday charged by their master with deducting a quantity of spirits from his store. It appeared that the prisoners had for some time past been in the habit of carrying on an intrigue with a woman of a very dubious character, whom they invited to their master's house on Monday night last. The latter heard an unusual noise about his premises, which, upon further inquisition, was found to proceed from an out-house— there the three mortals were enacting their part in a representation of "high life below stairs," and were enjoying themselves at the master's expense; when the latter, by his presence, put an end to their jollity. False keys were found in the possession of one man, which would give them admittance in the store-room. From concurrent circumstances, there was also little doubt but that the other prisoner was privy to every thing. The latter was sentenced to be removed to a penal settlement for the term of two years — and the other to have his sentence extended to 3 years. The Australian, 5 July 1826. ------------------------------------------------------- THE POLICE. TUESDAY, JULY 4. - Samuel Stammers and Daniel Ford, Prisoners of the crown for 7 years each, stood charged by their master, T. W. Winder, Esq, with having, by means of skeleton keys, found in the possession of Stammers, entered and plundered Mr. Winder's stores of a considerable quantity of goods, his property. The case was fully established against the prisoners, who offered no defence, and they were severally sentenced as follows, viz. Samuel Stammers, to have his original term of transportation extended from the period of its expiration to three years beyond it; and Daniel Ford, to be sent to a penal settlement for two years.
