Children listed: 1839: Mary at Dapto 1841: Jacob at Dapto 1843: Charlotte at Jervis Bay. 9/4/1845: COF - wife of James Vivian per "Claudine 1829" (as stated on her CF) 24/8/1849: COF - in lieu of CF 45/475; wife of James Vivian, per "Claudine" [1829] (as stated on her CF) 12/11/1851 Sydney Morning Herald: Catherine Vivian, having arrived in Sydney from California, wishes to see her husband James Vivian and Jacob Vivian, her son, formerly brickmaker, in Wollongong. Any person or persons who can give information respecting these parties it will be most thankfully received, as his wife and children are leaving for California on the 16th. If this should meet the eye of the abovenamed James and Jacob Vivian, on their application to Catherine Vivian, at Mr. Charles Ray's, 123, Prince-street, they will hear of something greatly to their advantage. This information was found on Rootsweb: Apparently James William VIVIAN had walked out on the family in the middle 40's and no trace found of him in NSW since. About that time James Peter VIVIAN appeared in South Aust. after working as a cattle drover along the Murray River - he married Mary Ann Wallis in 1848 and settled in the Mt Pleasant area, had several children, relatively the same birth date and died in 1890 in SA. Is this the same man?? 1871: Catherine married Christopher Jerry/or Terry Duke in Sydney..they had 2 children: Jemima Forrest DUKE, b. 29 Aug 1856 at Balmain Christopher Terry DUKE, b. 12 Oct 1860 at Balmain 1874: Only one Catherine Duke listed on the NSW BDM - who died 1874 at Balmain - her father was listed as John. 1905: Christopher T Duke died at Granville, Syd.
