Catherine was baptised at Aidrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland on 22 Aug 1913, her parents, Livingstone Forsyth and Margaret Love. Catherine supposedly married William Roberts in 1846-1847 in Hobart, Tasmania. There is no record of a marriage between these two parties. A marragie of Catherine Forsyth to Edward Watts seems to fit, except for his age. Catherine and William Roberts lived in Melbourne, Castlemaine and Bendigo, Victoria. They had 6 children, of whom 3 survived to adulthood. Catherine's mother Margaret Love was also transported to Tasmania in 1825.
