William Foster, was a child convict, born in Warwickshire and convicted of housebreaking in Warwick at age 11 and transported after some time on the hulks. He survived all of this and was apprenticed as a shipwright on arrival at PJ. In the 1828 census he is married to Anastasia O'Neil, living in Cumberland Street, the Rocks, with two children and gives his arrival in the colony as 1803, Anastasia is the daughter of Thomas O'Neil (O'Neal), Friendship 1800, and Anne Kennedy, Experiment II 1809. 1811: TOL 29/2/1812: Conditional Pardon. 19/9/1823: Conditional Pardon, renewed, having been returned much mutilated and torn up. By 1834 he was the owner of 5 homes in Cumberland and Cambridge Streets, Sydney. He died in 1846. His Will left 18 houses to be divided between his children. John and Robert Campbell, of Campbell's Wharf, and George Atherden were executors of the Will.
