Trial 15 January 1812 Absolute Pardon dated 31st December 1836 - in the Commercial Journal and Advertiser, 8 November 1837, page 4 - Trove




William Fowler was 26 years old when transported for stealing 102 pairs of silk stockings, value £60 and 80 pairs of gloves, value £15 the property of Richard Barlow and John Alvin, in the dwelling house of Richard Barlow. William had been working for them for more than 12 months, they were Hosiers. William was charged with Charles Scott who was found not guilty. William was 5'9" tall, fair complexion, black hair, hazel eyes. 1822 muster: employed by his wife! Elizabeth Hearson, came free, and he had a TOL. 31/12/1836: recommended for a Absolute Pardon. At the time of his death, William was living at Union Lane, off George St., Sydney. He was also a land holder. Elizabeth died 20/11/1836 and is also buried at Old Devonshire Street Cemetery.




Married Elizabeth Seymour (Hearson) 1 Jan 1816 St Phillips Sydney. Children Hannah (1817 - 1831), William (1819 - 1893), Thomas (1821 - 1865), Daniel (1822 - ?) and James (1824 - 1860). Elizabeth left him, 2 children with George Dowling (Royal Admiral) 1829, 1831. William died 24 Mar 1843 aged 56, buried at Devonshire St with Hannah and Elizabeth.
