Convict Notes
Francis Hicks, for stealing two sheep, the property of Wm. Hinton. of Minety ; Cheltenham Chronicle, 8 April 1819.
The following criminals, who were condemned at our last Assizes, have since had their sentence commuted transportation for life: —Alexander Loo Kaye, Francis Hicks, John Jones, Thomas Smith, John Tombs, Berrow Hawkins, Richard Sadler, Robert Harrison, John Overthrow, Samuel Brain, Thomas James, Thomas Rose, John Motley, George Griffin, John Watts, William Niblett, John Warner, William Morgan, and James Turner. The first named ten, were, on Tuesday last, removed from our County Gaol to the hulks at Woolwich, preparatory to their embarkation for New South Wales. Cheltenham Chronicle, 20 May 1819.
