12/4/1823 Leicester Chronicle Leicestershire, England: ASSIZE INTELLIGENCE. James Freeman for burglary in the houses of W. Sharp, of Shaw-lane, and John Read of Stanton-under-Bardon, was sentenced to be hanged ; as was Thomas Bosworth, for feloniously assaulting and robbing T. Arnold, on the King's highwaY, near Orton-on-the-Hill. (Thomas Bosworth was also on board). James was listed as being 26 years old on arrival. Birth dates of 1796 or 1782. Place of birth: Barlestone, Leicestershire. 1830-32: Assigned to Mr Hazekiah Harrison. James was 5'6½" tall, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, Pock Marked left side upper lip, large scar inside left arm above elbow joint. Married with 3 children. 2/4/1828: Application to bring out family GO33/1/3/ p231 31/12/1833 Muster: TOL 26/9/1835: CP 18/10/1866: James Freeman, aged 84, a farmer, died of General Decay - Registered at Fingal. (Born 1782??). James was buried at the Fingal Historical Cemetery.
