National Records of Scotland Precognition against James Fullarton for the crime of theft, habit and repute, and previous conviction Dates 1844 Related record JC26/1844/152 Accused James Fullarton, coal carter, Address: Cross Street, Wallacetown, Ayrshire James Fullarton was listed as 20 years old on arrival in VDL. He was born in Ayr, Scotland. This was his fifth conviction: Carrots 1 month, for a tram Glass 2 months - 2 months for a currant bun - potatoes 14 days - This Offence: Stealing a Silver Tea spoon and a Table spoon. James was 5'6¼" tall, brown hair, grey eyes, illiterate, single, stout made. Heart & darts on right arm below elbow heart on left arm do {below elbow} Scar on left arm on elbow joint. Scar between forefinger and thumb right hand. 29/8/1848: TOL 6/3/1854: Free Certificate. Some confusion over the spelling of the surname: there was a James Fullerton who was a farmer and was murdered 27/8/1862. No death found for James FULLARTON.
