Tried at the Old Bailey, 13 September 1827. 1854. FREDERICK MOODY and THOMAS GALLIGHAN were indicted for stealing, on the 20th of August , 17 handkerchiefs, value 24s. , the goods of William Jones . ROBERT MARKS . I live with Wm. Jones, a pawnbroker. These handkerchiefs were safe in his shop on the afternoon of the 20th of August - I did not miss them till they were brought to me next morning - I know nothing of the prisoners. BENJAMIN TIMBRELL . I am an officer. I received information, and took the prisoners, in company together, between nine and ten o'clock in the morning of the 21st of August; I found on Gallighan these six handkerchiefs, between his shirt and waistcoat. WILLIAM SCHOFIELD . I was with Timbrell. I found these eleven handkerchiefs on Moody.(Property produced and sworn to.) MOODY's Defence. I was near the Horse Guards, and met a man running very fast with two or three bundles - he dropped one, which I took up; it contained this property. GALLIGHAN's Defence. I met my fellow prisoner - a man in a blue cloak ran by us; he dropped a bundle - we took it up, and shared the handkerchiefs. MOODY - GUILTY . Aged 15. GALLIGHAN - GUILTY . Aged 15.
