Norfolk Island Commandant's orders for 31 March 1835 state that Garcia's colonial sentence had expired, and that he was to leave Norfolk Island on the next sailing of the Isabella. This was probably on 29 April 1835. At the time, Garcia was also working on the island as a convict overseer. (Sources: NSW Archives 4/2244.1, Aaron Price's history of Norfolk Island)
