NORWICH. Monday the assizes began here, for this city and county of Norfolk, when … and Dan. Gardiner for a burglary in the dwelling house of Mr. S. Hipkins of St. Peter of Manjroft were capitally convicted. ... Ipswich Journal, 4 Aug 1787. --------------------------------------------------- The following prisoners were capitally convicted. James Blagbourn, for robbing Frances Mountain, John Crome, for highway robbery, and Daniel Gardiner, for felony. After the judge left town, Crome is left for execution. Norfolk Chronicle, 4 Aug 1787

National Archives. HO 47/6/82 1787 Aug 2 Certificate/memorial of John Heath on those prisoners capitally convicted at the Norfolk and Norwich Assizes in July 1787, but 'some favourable Circumstances' appeared on/after their trial and recommended to mercy on the conditions set against their names: City of Norwich Daniel Gardiner, stealing goods, value 43/-, from a dwelling house. 7 years transportation.
