Convict Notes
A singlewoman of Manchester. Convicted 20/07/1803 of stealing a piece of wrapper at Lancaster Quarter Sessions at Salford. She had had several past convictions and imprisonment sentences in 1799 and 1802. She was held at Lancaster Castle gaol for 2 years. Lucy was part of a group of nine women sent from Lancaster Castle to Spithead 12/7/1805 to be put on the William Pitt, a journey of 315 miles. The transport to the south coast cost £15 15 shillings for each woman.
