Son of John Garratt (born 1757 Roxton, Bedfordshire) and Mary Darrington (born 1760). Married to Mary Jarvis (born 1799) from Thurleigh Bedfordshire. William Garratt lived in Roxton, Bedfordshire and had 9 children, the last of whom was born in 1838. He sailed on the Asia in 1840.
