Died, at hospital, Launceston, Tasmania on 22 Sept 1888, aged 61yrs. Cause - senility. Carter's wife. Noted as born in Ireland. Registration under name "Esther HIGGINS". (REF. 33/1/57 no. 334)

Child: Bridget (Biddy) - died at the Female Factory, Hobart on 26 Jan 1852. Aged 2 or 3yrs. Brothers: Martin & William (soldiers) Brothers: Patrick, Edward, James & John Sister: Mary 24 Oct 1854: Ticket of Leave granted. Oct 1854: Misconduct - sent to Ross Female Factory, hard labour. Application for Permission to Marry: 1 Jul 1856 - to William PRIEST (ref. 52/1/7 no. 363). No actual registration of marriage found. Child: male child b. 19 July 1860. Father - Thomas HALL, labourer. Mother - Esther GARRY. Registered in Launceston district. (ref. 33/1/38 no. 278) 17 Nov 1857: Certificate of Freedom, at Launceston. Marriage: 12 Jan 1875 - to John HIGGINS at Church of 12 Apostles, Catholic, Launceston. John aged 45yrs, labourer, widower; Esther aged 47yrs, hawker, widow. (ref. 37/1/34 no. 418)
