James Garside at Port Sorell, per Cornwall, F.S., for larceny, sentence 1 month, a labourer, native place Yorkshire, 57 yrs old, 5 feet 7 inches high, Known at Franklin & Launceston. Tasmania Police Gazette, 28th June 1872, p107. Prisoner discharged from HM Gaol & Houses of Correction, Hobart Town & Launceston during the week of the 20th July & the 24th July 1872. At Launceston, James Garside, per Cornwall, F.S., tried at Torquay on the 10 Jun 1872 for larceny, served 1 month, native place Yorkshire, age 57 years, 5 feet 7 inches high, brown to grey hair, 1853. J. right arm, ankle left leg dislocated, walks lame. Tasmania Police Gazette, 26th July 1872, p124.
