Family connections for Mary (Geer) are: GEER Mary (Geer) daughter of Edward (Geer) & Mary (Bowlden) was born on 18 4 1790 & became a servant. She was tried at age15 for housebreaking at Sussex Assizes, sentenced to hanging reprieved to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 4 1806 after a voyage of 9months on WILLIAM PITT; she was or became deaf. She became an early convert to the Baptist faith. She was Free by Servitude by 1814. She married William (Davis/Brown) emancipist on 19 3 1815 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He was tried at Hereford Assizes on 21 3 1797, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW on 20 11 1800 after a voyage of 8months on ROYAL ADMIRAL. He was issued his Ticket of Leave no.97 on 7 8 1810. He was Free by Servitude by 1814. He was an emancipist by 1815. He was issued his Absolute Pardon on 31 1 1816 & was recorded as a shoemaker. He died on 22 1 1868 age87. Mary married Wlliam Davis (alias Brown) in 1815 at Parramatta NSW and had 8 children. Her parents were Edward Geer & Mary Bowlden. Mary was only 15 when charged with housebreaking. She was sentenced to be hanged but it was changed to life sentence in Australia. Mary was one of the first converts to the Baptist church in Sydney and is 5th on the original Baptist roll. It was well known that Mary was deaf and fell asleep during sermons and snored.
