George was actually 9 years old when, in the company of his mother Hannah, they stole 2 pairs of shoes from John Cooper's shop. They were both transported on different ships. On arrival George was 10 years old, 4'1/2" tall, brown hair, dark brown eyes. 31/12/1831: Assigned to Mrs. Humprey. 3/2/1833: Assigned to John Kerr. 11/12/1833: Absent from his Master, 12 lashes on the breech. 26/12/1833:AWOL - cell 3 days. 7/11/1834: Howard/Misconduct in taking grossly indecent liberties with a child not 7 years of age, the daughter of his Master - returned to P>W> and recommended to the settlement for boys at Port Arthur and placed in the worst class at Point Puer. 10/8/1835: Most riotous unproper conduct in the cells, 12 lashes on the breech. 22/4/1836: PH/Absent from his work, hard labour the ensuing Saturday afternoon and 24 hours in the cell. 8/7/1836: COF. George apparently made his way to Geelong where he worked as a sawyer. His first wife was ellen, they had children, but then she married someone else and he adopted them. Then he married Sarah Hall C 1850 and they had a son George Henry born in Murchison, Vic., Sarah died in 1852 and then he married Susan Phillips in 1870. George died in Corryong, Vic. in 1893.
