Trial papers relating to George Gain for the crime of theft by housebreaking. Tried at High Court, Edinburgh. George Gain, Verdict: Guilty, Verdict Comments: Guilty - art and part, Sentence: Transportation - 7 years. Note: Pannel cannot write. 20/8/1850 The Argus, Melbourne: Superintendent's Office, Melbourne, 28th August, 1850. THE undermentioned persons are hereby reqested to take notice that their wives and families have arrived from Sydney, and that information respecting them can be obtained at the Government Emigration Depot. George Gain, supposed to be living at Portland. Wife - Catherine Gain, and 2 children. For the Superintendent, EDWARD BELL. 21/2/1852 Geelong Advertiser: CAUTION, AND £2 REWARD.GEORGE GAIN having absconded from my hired service, on the 8th instant, all parties are hereby cautioned, and anyone giving information that may lead to his apprehension, will be rewarded with the above sum.
