17 Apr 1863 - George had died before this date. When George and Norah's daughter Susannah Emily married, the following comment was recorded on it. "The consent of Nathaniel Conelly J.P. and Guardian of Susannah Gordon, daughter of George Gordon (deceased), was given to the marriage of Susannah Gordon with Albert Thomas Field, the said Susannah Gordon being under the age of twenty years." Note: The George Gordon who died at Yass in 1863 was the husband of Rachel and father of Annie so it wasn't him.

Further to my comments earlier re George Gordon's per Malabar death NOT being Crookwell 1874. I have located a letter sent on George's behalf, appealing for Conditional Pardon to Governor Bourke dated 8th November 1837. My George was still unable to write, signing with an X. In addition George Gordon per America had received Certificate of Freedom 1836 and was employed as a clerk at Female Factory Parramatta in 1837.

George Gordon signed his marriage certificate with his X mark - George could not read or write at 16 years (refer NSW Convict Records 1818-1891) -

I do not believe George Gordon (Malabar) is the person who commited suicide in Crookwell 1/9/1874.A George Gordon (America 1829)was a clerk employed 1833 Carters Barracks and 1837 Female Factory Parramatta as stated in the obituary, not George Gordon (Malabar 1819). Meanwhile my 3xgreat grandfather's records show he could not read or write when he arrived aged 16years; In 1831 when he married Norah Sullivan the original certificate was signed with an X. His 1831 Ticket of Leave was granted for the Bathurst area, not Sydney. Between 1833 and 1840 his 4 children were born in Bathurst. Therefore he could not have been employed in Sydney. Would appreciate further discussion on this matter. All details can be confirmed by NSW Australia, Convict Records 1810-1891. NSW BDM and a copy of the original marriage certificate of George Gordon and Norah Sullivan.
