Convict Notes
BOROUGH SESSIONS. The Quarter Sessions for this Borough were held at the Guildhall, or. Monday last, when the following prisoners were disposed of follows: John Halford and Thos. Garrett, were found guilty of stealing five gowns, and other articles, belonging Elizabeth Clarke, out of out of a room at the Fox inn, during the late May Fair, and sentenced to be transported for seven years. Both of the prisoners were old offenders. Halford had recently been liberated from the county gaol, where had undergone two years imprisonment for felony; Leicester Chronicle, 21 July 1821.
