Committed to Fisherton Gaol:—William Isaac, Joseph George, and Robert Star, charged with burglariously entering the dwelling-house of Jane Greenman, of Bremhill, the night of Saturday, the 28th ult, and stealing 10 in silver, a penknife, a handkerchief, and a variety other articles Salisbury Journal, 6 Feb 1832. The following convicts were removed, on Friday, the 4th inst., from Fisherton Gaol, and put on board the Leviathan hulk, at Portsmouth:—William Trimbv, Robert Starr, William Isaac, Joseph George, Thomas Fishlock. George Bnrnes, Thomas Hay ward, Henry Baker, William Davis, James Jones, Thomas Jones, and Charles Webb, all of whom have been sentenced to be transported for life, for housebreaking, and against whom death was recorded at the late Assizes for this county. Salisbury Journal, 7 May 1832.




Extract from the New South Wales Police Gazette, 21st June 1871. Information is requested respecting Joseph George, per Planter, 1832, 29 years old on arrival, 5 feet 8 1/2 inches high, dirty sallow complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, marks of scrofula on throat, large indented scar on forehead, scars inside both elbows ; native of Wiltshire, England ; a brick maker ; was for some time in the Bathurst district.
