APPLICATION FOR PERMISSION TO REMARRY: (note, if approved by the Govt., person were able to remarry in the Colony) 22 Nov 1841: Bridget GILL (per 'Mary Anne') to Henry GOODHEAD (per 'Larkins'). Did not proceed. 31 Mar 1844: Bridget GILL (per 'Mary Anne') to James CANTERBERRY (free status/free by servitude). Approved. (Note - a James Canterberry was transported per the 'Sir Charles Forbes' but was free by servitude at this time. Most likely one and same person.) REMARRIAGE: 24 June 1844, at Hobart, Church of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Bridget GILL to James CANTERBERRY, servant. Both adult. (ref. TA 37/1/4 no. 1330) CHILD: A female child.....GILL was born 21 April 1843 to a Bridget GILL, at Hobart. (ref. 33/1/1 no. 1424) Father's name not recorded. (Believed to be the child of this Briget.) DEATH: Bridget CANTERBERRY died, at Macquarie St. Hobart, 22 Dec 1871, aged 67yrs, labourer's wife, born Ireland. (ref. TA 35/1/8 no. 689) DEATH OF HUSBAND, James CANTERBERRY (CANTERBURY) 10 Oct 1873 at Hobart. Aged 73 yrs. Last known residence: Brickfield Depot. (ref. 35/1/8 no. 1735). Buried Cornelian Bay Cemetery 13 Oct 1873.
