John was literate, protestant, single, 5'5ΒΌ" tall dark sallow complexion, dark brown hair, dark hazel eyes, nose short and a little cocked, mark of a burn on left jaw, D under left arm, woman, J G inside lower right arm, ring on third finger of right hand, scar back of right wrist, two small moles inside left elbow, nail of forefinger of left hand split, scar on right shin. 1844: TOL 1846: TOL Parramatta 31/8/1855 COF
