Convict Notes
Pat, Gleeson was found Guilty of stealing two heifers, the property of Thomas Morrissy and John Walpole. Clonmel Herald, 1 April 1829.
The two Patrick Gleesons on the 'Larkins' have been transposed in official records unfortunately. Both were from the parish of Silvermines (Kilmore) in North Tipperary. The younger Patrick was executed at Bathurst. The older Patrick became 'uncle' and head of the Gleeson families of Windsor (NSW), who after record floods and bankruptcy settled in the dryer climate of Cooyal and Stoney Creek, outside of Mudgee (NSW). Patrick Gleeson sen. died in 1862 and was buried at the old Windsor Catholic Cemetery. A reunion to mark the 160th anniversary was held in 2012 and received coverage in the 'Nenagh Guardian' (County Tipperary, Ireland).
